Your privacy matters to us. PalPhi is designed to share Wi-Fi, not your data. We collect only what we need to run the platform, never sell your personal information, and give you control over what you share.

Who We Are
PalPhi ("we," "us," or "our") operates the PalPhi mobile application — a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi marketplace. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our Service.
For questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@palphi.com.
Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account Info | Name, email address, profile photo | Provided by you |
| Location Data | Approximate or precise location, depending on your permission settings, to show nearby hotspots and host listings | Device permissions |
| Payment Info | Last 4 digits of card, billing ZIP — full card data is handled by Stripe and never stored by us | Stripe / Apple Pay |
| Usage Data | Sessions purchased, sessions hosted, connection timestamps, app activity | Automatically collected |
| Network & Hotspot Data | Router identifiers, hotspot status, listing name, SSID, speed tier, approximate hotspot location, session duration, bandwidth usage, and connection quality metrics | Automatically collected from the app, platform, and connected router |
| Device Info | Device type, OS version, app version, IP address, browser type, device identifiers, crash logs | Automatically collected |
| Communications | Support messages, feedback you send us | Provided by you |
We do not collect or log the content of your internet traffic while using a Host's connection. We may collect technical metadata needed to provide sessions, secure the Service, troubleshoot connectivity, prevent abuse, and respond to legal or safety issues.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your PalPhi account
- Facilitate transactions between Hosts and Guests
- Process payments and pay out Host earnings
- Display nearby available hotspots based on your location
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot compatible routers and hotspot sessions
- Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, payout confirmations)
- Detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
- Improve and debug the app using anonymous usage analytics
- Respond to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising purposes and do not sell your information to third parties.
Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Supabase (database/auth), Stripe (payments and payouts), Apple (In-App Purchases, Apple Pay, and Sign in with Apple, if enabled), Google (sign-in or payment services, if enabled), hosting providers, email providers, analytics providers, and crash-reporting tools. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and contracts.
- Between Users: Hosts may see limited session information such as active session status, device type, session duration, and connection quality. Guests may see the Host's public listing name, approximate location, price, speed tier, availability, and hotspot instructions. No personal contact information is shared between users unless you choose to provide it.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
We never sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.
Network & Location Privacy
PalPhi is designed to keep Host and Guest activity separated. Guest traffic is intended to run on a separate guest network so Guests cannot access the Host's private devices, files, or local network, and Hosts cannot browse the Guest's network session through PalPhi.
Hosts control the public information shown on their hotspot listing, including listing name, price, availability, and approximate location. Guests should assume that limited technical metadata about a session, such as device type, connection time, and bandwidth usage, may be visible to PalPhi and, where necessary, to the Host for operational and support purposes.
Because internet traffic may route through a Host's internet connection, third parties such as websites, ISPs, payment processors, or law enforcement may associate certain network activity with IP addresses or technical records. PalPhi may retain limited metadata to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, legal requests, chargebacks, and Terms violations.
Third-Party Services
PalPhi may integrate with third-party services for authentication, payments, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, maps, router management, and customer support. These providers may collect and process information according to their own privacy policies.
If you use Apple, Google, Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or another third-party service with PalPhi, your use of those services is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information within 30 days, except where we need to retain it for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, chargeback, payout, or abuse investigation purposes.
Financial records may be retained for 7 years or as otherwise required by law. Network/session metadata may be retained for a reasonable period to operate the Service, investigate abuse, troubleshoot issues, and protect users. Anonymized or aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- End-to-end encrypted authentication via Supabase
- TLS/HTTPS for all data in transit
- Payment data handled exclusively by PCI-compliant processors (Stripe)
- Network separation controls for Host and Guest traffic on compatible router configurations
- Regular security reviews and access controls
No method of transmission over the internet, Wi-Fi, or router configuration is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data and separate Host and Guest traffic, we cannot guarantee absolute security or uninterrupted isolation in every environment. Please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing
- Opt out of certain sharing: Where required by law, opt out of certain disclosures or uses of personal information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@palphi.com. We will respond within 30 days or as otherwise required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Children's Privacy
PalPhi is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@palphi.com.
International Users
PalPhi is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via the app or email. Your continued use of PalPhi after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
